Join Us For An Exciting Trip To Duke Farms In Hillsborough And Grounds For Sculpture In Hamilton, Two Very Different Properties.

This field trip to two diverse properties will capture your inner garden spirit. Join us on Tuesday, October 3rd.

Our first stop of the day is to Duke Farms, home to the late heiress Doris Duke. This property is self-guided and maps are available in the Farm Barn Orientation Center. A 10-minute video welcomes visitors to acquaint us with the history of Duke Farms; there are interactive exhibits and displays. The entire property includes 2,740 acres, however, there is a core area of specialty areas, including Orchid House, historic buildings, statues, waterfalls and other features unique to the site. Bike rentals are available for a fee. We will have 3 hours at Duke Farms including time for lunch.

Our next stop is Grounds for Sculpture. This unique destination has several hundred pieces of sculpture set amid a well-designed landscape. A café is also available to visitors. We expect to be exploring GFS for two hours.

Our group will meet at Graydon Pool Parking Lot (North along the narrow strip) at the corner of Linwood Avenue and Northern Parkway in Ridgewood between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be available. The bus will depart at 8 a.m. sharp. Expected return is 5:30 p.m.

Please wear comfortable shoes as there is considerable walking.  A tram is available for individuals with disabilities. Bring a friend! The $59 fee includes bus transportation, admission, tip for the driver, and miscellaneous expenses.

We depart on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 8 a.m. sharp.  Register early…seats fill quickly. Deadline for registration is October 2nd. This trip is rain or shine.

Refund Policy: If conditions exist beyond our control, we reserve the right to cancel. Patrons cannot cancel less than two days before the trip and expect a full refund. If we have a wait list and can fill that person’s spot, only then will the money be refunded.
