Organic Vegetable Gardening Talk

Culinary/gardening expert Anita Dafonte from Coast of Maine Organic Products will return to Rohsler’s on Saturday, May 19. Visit the nursery between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. as Anita shares tips on organic gardening and about cooking with vegetables and herbs fresh from the garden to table.

Anita, who hails from a family of bakers and caterers, began growing her own vegetables to enhance the flavors of her food. She begins the process by building rich organic soil for her plants, a project made easier thanks to Coast of Maine’s biologically diverse, compost-based products such as Bumper Crop. Special pricing on all Coast of Maine products will be in effect this day.

Her resume includes work at “Fine Gardening” and “Kitchen Gardening” magazines, and service on the Mail Order Gardening Association’s board of directors. She is also a graduate of the Maine Compost School of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
