A Man with a Mission

What’s in the Garden:

Morton-Statue“Each generation takes the earth as trustees.” – Julius Sterling Morton

Does the name Julius Sterling Morton ring a bell? It should! Morton was the driving force behind Arbor Day, a time-honored national holiday that has led to the planting of countless trees. In New Jersey, Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday in April. Read More

Taking a cue from Morton, we invite everyone to plant ornamental, fruit, and shade trees. We will gladly help you choose the right tree for your planting site/landscape from our varied selection.

A Rose for Mom

Our extensive rose collection is now on display right outside the garden center – just in time for Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 8)! Beautiful Hybrid Teas, Floribundas, Climbers, Shrub Roses, and many more fill our yard. We have one of the largest collections of roses in northern New Jersey thanks to our participation in the David Austin Premier Partnership Program. This collaboration allows us to offer roses you can’t buy at other garden centers. Read More about Roses.

We also offer many items to help you keep your roses looking their best all year long. We carry pruning shears, Bumper Crop organic soil amendment, mulch, organic and traditional rose sprays, rose gloves, Rose-tone fertilizer, and more. This week, Rohsler’s has Espoma Rose-tone organic rose fertilizer on sale.

Let our floral shop help you pick out a gorgeous bouquet or arrangement that will make Mother’s Day extra special!

Now Trending: Succulents

Growing succulents indoors and outdoors has become a popular gardening trend.

What’s not to like? Most succulents are resilient, easy-care plants that continue to grow despite occasional neglect. After all, these plants grow in arid regions, and are adapted to store water from rain and mist in their leaves, stems, and roots. Read More

Our greenhouses are overflowing with all types of succulents, and select succulents are now on sale. See the current round of Rohsler’s Picks.
Create your own “hanging garden” in a heartbeat with a Live Green Wall Planter, now available at Rohsler’s. This ingenious planter resembles a deep picture frame and features multiple planting spaces for succulents (or other plants). Once you’ve executed your design, simply hang your new succulent garden on the wall – preferably in direct light. We will be conducting a Hands-on Workshop on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 7 p.m. where attendees will be guided through the process of making a beautiful succulent wall Planter. See our Events page for more details.

Remember: April Showers bring May Flowers. Happy Gardening!
