PLANTS OF THE WEEK: PANSIES AND VIOLAS

Spring is here and we have Pansies and Violas to start your season off with a colorful blast.

Pansies and Violas are extremely cold hardy which makes them great for early spring planting. They will thrive as soil temperatures moderate between 45 and 65 degrees. Simple and easy to take care of, they come in a wide range of colors that will suit any of your garden needs. Violas have smaller flowers than Pansies but bloom more prolifically. Their flowers are also edible and can be used as a colorful garnish for many dishes.

Plant in full sun to light shade in organically rich soil. Be sure to add a slow release fertilizer like organic Plant-tone to prolong long blooming lush flowers. Pansies will bloom now until the heat and humidity of summer begin, at which time warm-season annuals can safely be planted. Stop by today to choose from our wide selection of flats, pots and hanging baskets of Bright and Cheery Violas and Pansies!
