Ho-Ho-Kus Low-Maintenance Backyard Makeover

Goal: The homeowner requested a durable, dog-friendly outdoor space that wouldn’t require much maintenance.

Solutions: First, we regraded the entire backyard to ensure proper drainage and create a smooth, even surface. We installed a new backyard patio with steps using Cambridge Toffee Onyx Lite pavers, providing a sturdy and attractive area for outdoor activities. We then spruced up the yard’s perimeter, planting spirea bushes, viburnum shrubs, and skip laurel to add natural beauty and structure to the space. We also incorporated decorative Delaware river stones to keep the area low-maintenance and to prevent the dog from tracking dirt throughout the yard. Finally, we also revitalized the garden area in the corner, as well as prepared a site for a future shed, ensuring the yard can accommodate future enhancements.
